Munching on Carrot sticks

So, I'm at work, munching on carrot sticks, hoping to lose 5 pounds in the next 72 hours...
>>I'm so excited about this weekend! Only a 20 page paper left to do, and I'll be free!!! And by the way, I've been stalking our registries, so I'm ruining the surprise for myself, but it's fun anyway!!
>>If I didn't already tell you, all of the bridesmaids have their dresses, which is a huge feat. Apparently, Dad and Alan went to be sized for their tuxes, but I haven't heard how that went yet.
>>Austin's parents came and stayed with me last weekend and we watched/went to the LSU/MSU game. We had a good weekend, even if the game was miserable (the weather and the score).
>>Other than that, I'm going to be writing a paper into the early hours of the morning tonight. But I have so much to look forward to this weekend!!!

82 Days!

We booked our Honeymoon Plans today!!! Yay!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have the BEST Fiance' EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'M SORRY!!!!!!!!!!!

I've been a horrible blogger!!! But I'm back!! School and wedding stuff has taken over my life....as well it should. School is in full swing, and Austin and I are both busy.
>>Wedding planning is back in full swing too! The cocktail party is less than three weeks away. I FINALLY found a dress--and I didn't even find it (Thanks Mom!!). It's beautiful and I can't wait to wear it!
>>We're trying to get the little things tied up right now -- program, table decorations, all of that good stuff. If you want to know more about that, ask Mom because she's being AWESOME and taking care of it!! I did kinda of freak her out Saturday when I told her we only had 89 days!
>>Now that I have my own apartment, and it's the apartment Austin and I will start our home in, he's started to move some of his stuff in. And, he's over there a lot - which I love! But, that said, I'm beginning to learn early some things about married life. I thought I'd share, because as serious as they are, they're really funny!!

Lesson #1:
DO NOT spend the entire weekend cleaning the apartment when your significant other is camping.
**Austin was camping with BYX this weekend, so I took the opportunity to clean the kitchen, bathroom, living room, and to scrape the 3 layers of clothes off my bedroom floor. Sunday night, he proceeded to bring in all of his camping stuff which included bugs, dirt, water, leaves, grass, and BOY STINK!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now my sparkling clean apartment is covered in the above mentioned things, including the BOY STINK. Not even a Bird of Paradise candle can get it out.....

Despite the boy stink, I'm excited about what December will bring! I'll try to be better at blogging and keeping you updated!

Where Has Summer Gone?

Where has the summer gone?? It does not seem like 2 months have flown by!! I'm packing up and getting ready to move into my new apartment. I'm tired of looking at boxes and not having any place to put them! Hopefully, at some point this week, somebody will help me move, because I have no idea who or when at this point in time! All I know is that I will be flying to D.C. at 12:50 p.m. on Saturday, and I can't wait!
>>As for wedding plans, Mom and I got a lot done this summer. This morning she was doing some little things around town. My dress is hemmed (Thanks Celie!!) and my veil is finished (Thanks Celie!!)!! So those are a few more things that can be checked off.
>>Austin and I are going to be featured in the Bastrop Daily Enterprise's Fall and Winter Wedding feature on Thursday. I don't know if they will post the article on their website, but when I get a copy, I'll either post a scan on here or post the link to the article!

Off to D.C.!! After I finish packing, move, unpack, work, take care of the house I'm house sitting, go to the library, run more errands, ....Will I ever get there??????????

28 Days!!!!

We got the wedding invitations today!! They came in a lot quicker than I expected. We also got the "Katie and Austin" thank you notes, that I can't wait to use, but I have to, until after the wedding...boo!!! They're really pretty though! I'm at home for the weekend; helping Mom clean out my room. I'm wondering how I'm going to put all of my stuff in my apartment, let alone all of Austin's!!! I think a little summer/fall spring cleaning will be in order!
>>Celie's been working hard on getting my dress hemmed. When we pinned it, she told me that I needed to grow some more! I've been trying, but no success yet! I'm going to try it on again this weekend to check the length and work on the bustle! I love trying it on, but it's so hot, I'm lucky I haven't passed out yet! Good thing the wedding is in December.....

164 Days until the wedding and 32 days until Austin and I are back together again!!!! Wedding plans are going...the invitations have been ordered and Mom is working on programs and fonts, and all that stuff she is good at! We went and picked up the first wave of bridesmaids dresses, and my dress has been pinned. Just a lot of little things being done right now.
>>I talked to the guy about our apartment today, and we officially have one! I'm so excited to move in and start nesting and organizing!

Crazy Dreams

>>After all the excitement yesterday, I had the worst dream last night. It was wedding day, and I was set to walk down the aisle, I realized I didn't have my veil, my hair was back in a workout headband, so I just stuck the veil in my hair. Then I turned around, and Dad was gone--he had gone to work on a piece of equipment!! Then the music started, I walked into the church, and Austin wasn't there --everybody started laughing! I was mortified, and spent the rest of the dream crying and being all pitiful! I don't think I can take 6 more months of these dreams!!!! Sarah said it's my psyche telling me Austin and I need to elope! Seriously, 6 more months of this? I think I'm going to go crazy!

Success at Last

Okay...so Sarah and Laura and I went to Tupelo today to try on the bridesmaids dresses. The ones I picked out were pretty, but we found another one that is beautiful! I felt awful because I felt like the girls tried on every dress in David's Bridal that wasn't white!!! But, we finally found a pretty, trumpet style dress...black, with tiny spaghetti straps. Yay!!!! I'll try to post pictures soon...when my camera isn't across the apartment, and I'm not lazy!

Hey everybody! Sorry it's been a while. I was in D.C. getting Austin settled in for the summer. We had so much fun -- did a little sightseeing, ate some really good food, and spent some time together! I was sad to leave him, but its the last time we have to do this!! Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!
>>We got to register for all the gifts and stuff--that was fun! I got a little too excited at Bed Bath and Beyond, but who can blame me? It's the best place on earth (not Disneyworld!) Other than that, wedding stuff is still under control. We did so much after we first got engaged, its hurry up and wait time. I hope the summer hurries up and flies by!
>>I found out today that we won a 3 day 2 night honeymoon-- all inclusive! Some random thing I registered for, and we won! We can pick up the vouchers in Tupelo this weekend. Sad thing is, Austin and I both have to be there to pick them up! But, we can also pick them up next time the Bridal Fair is in Tupelo, which should be in a few months. So, exciting, but a letdown, because Austin isn't here!!

May 17 Update

I finally picked Bridesmaids' dresses!! Yay!! It's been a long process, full of dealing with not-so-very nice people. The dresses all of us liked would not work, because I would have had to buy a dress in the sample size just for the girls to try it on! That would not work! But, we found them, and they're really pretty!
>>Austin's going to be here tomorrow and I'm so excited!! We're going to register for stuff and hang out and finally watch HOUSE!!! We're 2 weeks behind, so I'm looking forward to catching up!

6 Down, 2 to Go

I am officially done! And so is Austin, although his finals experience was a little more painful than mine! Just hanging out now, I'm still working and making the big bucks (haha). Wedding planning is at a standstill...we have gotten so much accomplished. I'm still deciding on bridesmaids dresses, because the one I want only comes in a sample size at this place in Starkville, and even then, the sample size won't come in until July. So I'm being as patient as possible. Other than that, I'm just celebrating being able to read for enjoyment and not FAULKNER (apologies to the Faulkner Fans out there). So Happy Summer!

Random Update

So...we didn't get to taste cakes, but we did get tons accomplished last weekend. Then we headed down to Baton Rouge to eat CRAWFISH! I ate so much...and I'm looking forward to eating more tomorrow at Super Bulldog Weekend. We're just kinda hanging out now, busy with wrapping up school work - and trying not to be too stressed out. Austin and I are both looking forward to registering for gifts... We're registering at Arnett's, Bed Bath and Beyond, Sears, and either Belk or Dillards. And possibly Target. Any suggestions? First Day -- Successful

Our first day of "official" wedding planning was a SUCCESS!!! Austin and I rushed to Bastrop after class to get some things done yesterday. We picked out invitations, napkins, and everyday dinnerware! And registered for some other fun stuff! We pretty much know what we want, so it's going to be an easy day...we hope!

P.S. We're going to look at cakes today...I love just sitting in Linda's and smelling all of the yumminess! Maybe we'll get to taste some too!!!

One More Day

I'm looking forward to Easter Break (A whole 3 Days!!!) more than I can ever remember! If I can make it through tomorrow, I'll be in great shape! My list of things to do before and during the break is a mile long. I've got a case problems presentation tomorrow morning bright and early, and then a feature story due (and yet, here I am...procrastinating!). Austin and I have a list of things to do on Friday in Bastrop -- pick out invitations, look at flowers and cakes, go check out possible rehearsal dinner sites, and enjoy the whole process! Then we're heading down to Addis to hang out for the rest of the break. I'm super excited about finally making some concrete wedding decisions -- It's all just been "here are the options." So it's exciting to start getting things nailed down. I'll keep you updated!

Wedding Dress Shopping

I got the dress!! Sarah, Nicki, and I met Mom and Mrs. Emilia in Jackson to look at dresses yesterday. I honestly thought we were just going to look, but the fourth or fifth dress I tried on was the perfect dress! Luckily, we got out of the store before the rush hit, so that was a plus. I still haven't decided on bridesmaids dresses, since the one I picked out was a bust (no pun intended!!!). We had lots of fun...especially with out random Macaroni Grill waiter and hostess, but all in all, it was a successful day! I'm posting a few pictures, but none of them show the actual dress...but here are a few fun pictures!

We're busy planning, and I'm busy procrastinating on schoolwork - soon to end tomorrow when I have to buckle down for the last 4 weeks of school. Austin and I are working on ideas and working on registry wish lists. He keeps questioning why we need things, like a cappuccino maker. He said, "How many times would you use that?" and I told him "I didn't know, I don't have one!!" Mom and I are going to start looking at dresses next week, so I'm super excited!

All wedding planning has been postponed until Austin and I decide what we want. Keep you updated when, and if, we figure that out!!!

We're Engaged!!!!

Hey Yall! We are so excited to finally be engaged! We're going to keep everybody updated on here, because we're all so spread out! Planning has just started (Mom's been planning for a month!!) but we've booked the church, the Country Club, and set the date: December 12, 2009!!! As we get things together and finalized, I'll keep everybody informed!
