Fish Cobbler

When Austin and I moved into our house, we had a lot of help from both of our families.  To thank them, (and to finally use our fish cooker again) we thawed out some fish to fry.

I took Lila outside, and when I came back in, my Dad was sitting at the sink eating the CATFISH RAW!!!!  He tried to give me some, and I freaked!!  Well, come to find out, my grandparents hadn't sent fish -- they had sent frozen PEARS!!!  So, now I had 2 gallons of pears to do something with -- so I found this recipe for cobbler from Pots, Pans, & Pioneers - courtesy of Mrs. Betty Winston.  Enjoy!!

1 c. all purpose flour
3/4 c. milk
1 pinch salt
3/4 blog butter or oleo
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
peachers, apples, berries, or PEARS!!

Melt butter in large baking dish.  Mix flour, sugar, milk, salt and baking powder; pour batter over melted butter.  (don't stir--I made that mistake:)) Place fruit of your choice in center of flour mixture.  Bake at 350 degrees until brown.  It will take about 45 minutes.

Serve over ice cream -- it's divine!!!
